Classes are now being held as requested. There is no set schedule. If you see a class you are interested in or if there is a class you would like to take, but don't see listed, call the library 712-464-3414 or email the instructor to set up a class time.

Windows 7 Basics

This is two-hour class.

• Change your desktop including screensaver, preferences and widgets.
• Find your files.
• Burn CDs and DVDs.

Pictures on your PC

This is two-hour class.

• Learn basic enhancements to your digital pictures.
• Learn how to use Windows Movie/DVD Maker to create movies from your digital photos.
• Learn how to burn CD's or DVD's.

Microsoft Word 2007

Word processing software used to create letters and other documents. Mail merge allows you to create mass mailings.

This is a two-part class (2 hours each)

• Formatting documents.
• Mail Merge.
• Using Tables in Word.

Microsoft Excel 2007

Spreadsheet software used as a database or to create documents. It allows you to do simple and complex calculations.

This is a two-part class (2 hours each)

• Formatting cells.
• Formulas.
• Charts and Graphs.
• Sample worksheets for calendars, personal budgets, loan amortization, and more.

Microsoft Powerpoint 2007

Presentation software used to create slide presentations for a formal presentation or as a picture slideshow.

This is two-hour class.

Microsoft Publisher 2007

Publishing software used to create flyers, greeting cards, posters, etc.

This is two-hour class.

• Create flyers, brochures, certificates.
• Create your own greeting cards, postcards and newsletters.

Microsoft Access 2007

Database software used to keep track of any kind of information from inventories to customers to collections.

This is two-hour class.

• Create a database and queries.
• Create a user interface to enter data.
• Create printable reports.

GIMP 2

Free open-source program very similar to Photoshop Elements. It is used to edit and enhance photos and to create artistic designs.
