COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
FINANCE
- In November, review budget and project anticipated expenditures and revenues
 - In January, present budget needs to City Council
 - Meet with Director and prepare budget
 - Present budget or approval at February meeting
 
BUILDING/GROUNDS
- Monitor building needs (including grounds)
 - In March do a walk through
 - Report to Board in April
 - As needed research possible solutions for handling structural repairs or problems
 - Update inventory annually (furniture, appliances, etc.)
 
PERSONNEL/NOMINATING
- Coordinate Board evaluation of Director
 - Coordinate Board self-evaluation
 - New trustee orientation
 - In April, prepare slate of officers every 2 years of even numbered years
 - Present slate at May meeting
 - Maintain a list of potential trustees
 
COMMUNITY OUTREACH – STANDING
- Present end of year report to City Council
 - Lead the Board in advocacy
 - Coordinate publicizing of library service and events
 - Coordinate special events as needed
 - Suggest ways to outreach to the community
 - Submit ideas for the bi-annual library newsletter
 
TECHNOLOGY - STANDING
- Evaluate technology quarterly
 - Review technology plan and present to Board
 
FRIENDS
- Attend Friends meetings
 - Report at next board meeting
 
PLANNING
- Oversee long-range planning
 - Gather information from the community about needs for the library
 - Address planning needs for library certification
