It is the mission of the Lake City Public Library to provide open and equal access to information, resources and services in order to meet the educational, cultural, creative, recreational and business needs of the community.

History of the Lake City Public Library

  • The Carnegie Library in Lake City opened in 1910
  • The Library Director was Miss Blanche I. Hackett
  • The Architect was Edgar Lee Barber of Denison
